Abba Bichi, son of the former Director General of the Department of State Security, DSS, Yusuf Magaji Bichi, is reportedly on the run after allegedly stealing $2 million in cash from his father’s residence.

Sources within the DSS confirmed that Bichi allegedly vanished with $2 million in cash shortly after his father’s sack was announced by President Bola Tinubu.

Abba, who reportedly knew where his father stored money purportedly collected from politicians, was said to have rushed to the family home and taken the box of cash before fleeing.

Unconfirmed reports said the Chief Security Officer to the sacked former DG, Mr. Adamu has been detained for also stealing thousands of Dollars left in the office of his boss.

Adamu, according to an unconfirmed source allegedly ransacked Bichi’s office and took bundles of Dollar bills.

He was apprehended immediately as he came out of the office with the bag of Dollars.

While Abba stealing of his father’s $2million has been confirmed by several sources in DSS, that of Adamu is yet to be fully confirmed.

Abba, an alleged club freak and flamboyant son of the former DSS DG lives in a Maitama apartment where he pays $80k per year. He has been unsuccessful in his soccer career.

Credible News recalls that President Tinubu sacked the Bichi on August, naming Adeola Ajayi as the new Director-General of the State Services.

Bichi who was appointed by former President Muhammadu Buhari in 2018.

His sack sparked reaction particularly from officers of the Service as some were reportedly caught jubilating over the dismissal the former DG.

In a video, which circulated the social media, the DSS personnel can be seen cheering, dancing, and exchanging congratulatory messages following the announcement of Bichi’s exit.

It was reported that the jubilation was unconnected to the alleged bad leadership style of Bichi.

Nigerian netizens also disclosed that Bichi’s leadership style and policies had created divisions among personnel, leading to widespread discontent.

An X user, Thεό Abu in comment on the video wrote: “DSS Personnel celebrating the removal of DSS DG, Bichi. The new DG must do everything possible to make this organization work for the good of Nigeria.”
