Controversial street-pop star, Habeeb Okikiola also known as Portable has begged for forgiveness after he slapped a pastor who came to preach at his bar.
It was reported that the singer had a few days ago caught on camera slapping a pastor.
Following the attack, Portable faced backlash from netizens’ and other preachers who threatened to take action against him for assaulting a man of God.
However, addressing the controversy in a video he shared in the midnight on Monday, the singer attributed his actions to past experience.
While begging God for forgiveness, he explained that he attacked the preacher because he thought he was there to cause him spiritual harm.
“My fans, community issues are different from that of the street. May God forgive me. I didn’t know he was a genuine man of God. If I knew I wouldn’t have slapped him.
“I’m also a child of God. I’m human, I’m not perfect. I am an orphan. They have harmed my sister through this same strategy,” he said.
Portable had earlier declared himself as a pastor, saying that God speaks through to men.

In another event, the Nigerian singer had expressed his disappointment that the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 election, Peter Obi, didn’t give him anything after meeting with him.
A to a viral video seen on social media on Sunday, Obi and Portable met briefly at the airport in Benin City, the Edo State capital, where the two exchanged pleasantries.
Speaking in a video after the meeting with the former Governor of Anambra State, Portable expressed disappointment that Obi did not give him anything.
The controversial singer added that President Bola Tinubu would have given him money if it were to be him he met.
Portable said: “Obi cannot give us anything. Obi didn’t give us anything. If it was Tinubu we met, he would have given us something. Let’s go.”
