The Federal Government has issued a warning to private companies to comply with the newly established minimum wage law of ₦70,000.
Alhaji Ismaila Abubakar, the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, emphasized this during the 13th Annual General Meeting of the Employers Association for Private Employment Agencies of Nigeria in Ikeja, Lagos.
He stressed the need for companies to respect the wage law to ensure fair labor practices and improve the living standards of workers in Nigeria. He also emphasized that private employment agencies must ensure that all contracts mandate a minimum wage of ₦70,000, with workers receiving this amount after deductions. This move is part of the government’s broader effort to enforce labor laws and enhance employee welfare across the country.
