The Police command in Federal Capital Territory, FCT, has dismissed rumours of an alleged plan by some unknown people to abduct students at the University of Abuja.
Police spokesperson, Josephine Adeh in a statement described the report as baseless.
“The report is nothing but baseless publications propagated by rumour mongers aiming to create unfounded panic and apprehension among FCT residents and university community” the statement read.
Adeh reiterated the command’s commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of FCT residents.
The spokesperson noted that personnel and equipment have been deployed to enhance security within FCT.
She urges residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the police.
