The trial of Isaac Bristol faced delays due to the absence of Justice Emeka Nwite from the Federal High Court in Abuja.
The court session scheduled for Tuesday could not take place as Justice Nwite is currently on a two-week vacation, having previously sat during the annual vacation period from July 23 to September 13. The next court date for Bristol has been set for January 22, 2025.
On September 27, Justice Nwite had granted Bristol bail of N5 million, with the stipulation of one surety in the same amount. The ruling emphasized that bail is a constitutional right, requiring the surety to be a reputable citizen with a verified tax clearance certificate and address. Additionally, Bristol was ordered to deposit his international passport with the court. Failure to meet these conditions could result in the revocation of his bail.
