The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Sen. George Akume, has emphasized the importance of collaboration for newly appointed ministers as they assume office.

At an Induction Retreat in Abuja, Akume stressed that working together with fellow Ministers, Permanent Secretaries, and relevant stakeholders is vital to the success of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

He congratulated the Ministers on their appointments and urged them to prioritize teamwork to achieve sustainable development goals.

“To tackle the challenges we face, such as economic recovery and social cohesion, effective collaboration across ministries and agencies is essential,” he said.

Akume also highlighted the need for transparency, accountability, and excellence in carrying out their duties. He reassured the Ministers of the full support of his office to ensure the success of their mandates and called on them to provide strong leadership in policy formulation, implementation, and tracking of government initiatives.

In a similar vein, Boss Mustapha, the immediate past SGF, encouraged the new Ministers to work closely with the SGF’s office to ensure the successful implementation of policies aligned with the eight priorities of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Didi Esther Walson-Jack, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, urged the Ministers to collaborate with Permanent Secretaries to effectively implement their mandates and stay aligned with the ongoing reforms in the Federal Civil Service.

Hadiza Bala Usman, Special Adviser to the President on Policy and Coordination, said the induction would help the Ministers understand key Presidential priorities and foster relationships with stakeholders for successful delivery.

The retreat also featured a presentation by Mr. Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi, Director-General of the Directorate of State Services, who advised the Ministers on maintaining discretion with sensitive government information to safeguard national security.
