A fierce fire late Friday night devastated car spare parts shops in Ebute-Ero, Lagos Island, causing millions of naira in property damage.

Reports indicate that the fire ignited around 11 p.m., causing extensive destruction but fortunately, there were no recorded fatalities before rescue teams arrived on the scene. Emergency responders, including the Federal and Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency , LASEMA, and the Nigeria Police, were deployed to control the blaze.

Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the Permanent Secretary of LASEMA and Director of the Lagos State Fire Service, confirmed the incident.

“Upon the arrival of the LASEMA Response team, it was found that multiple buildings used as shops for car spare parts were engulfed in flames at the specified location” Oke-Osanyintolu stated.

“Fortunately, no casualties were reported at the scene, and there were no injuries.
