Prominent Islamic scholar, Sheikh Muyideen Ajani Bello has passed away, leaving a profound sense of loss among his followers and admirers.

His death was announced on Friday by Sheikh Akeugbagold Taofeeq, who expressed deep sorrow over the loss of his mentor.

SULTONUL WAHIZEEN of Yorubaland Sheikh Muhyideen AJANI BELLO, may Allah be pleased with your soul. Aljannah fridaos for you . Sheikh Bello was widely respected for his wisdom, teachings, and service to the Muslim community, leaving behind a lasting legacy of faith and guidance.

He was born in the mid-20th century in Ibadan, Oyo State, where he established himself as a prominent figure in the Muslim community both nationally and globally. Sheikh Muyideen was born in 1940 into the family of Alhaji Bello Ajani and Alhaja Ubaidat Bello of Arolu Compound, Ita Olukoyi, Ibadan. He died at 84.

Sheikh Bello also made significant contributions to Islamic education by helping establish and run several schools and institutions. These schools focus on quality education while teaching Islamic values. He also promoted a balanced approach to learning, combining religious teachings with modern sciences and humanities.

In a tribute to the eminent cleric, Hon. Junril Emilagba wrote:

“With heavy hearts, we mourn the passing of a remarkable soul, Sheikh Muyeeden Ajani Bello. His life was a beacon of hope, a shining example of the true essence of Islam. Through his tireless efforts to spread Islamic knowledge, he touched the lives of countless individuals, leaving an indelible mark on the global Islamic community.

“Sheikh Muyeeden’s wisdom, compassion, and humility inspired a generation of Muslims, and his legacy will continue to guide us on the path of righteousness. His passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his memory will live on in our hearts, and his teachings will continue to inspire us.

“May Allah (SWT) forgive his shortcomings, grant him a place in Jannatul Firdaus, and fill his grave with the light of His mercy. May He also grant patience, strength, and solace to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.

“As we mourn the loss of this extraordinary individual, let us also celebrate his life, his legacy, and the impact he had on our lives. May his memory continue to inspire us to strive for excellence, to seek knowledge, and to serve humanity.”
