The 1987 Mass Communication Class of The Polytechnic, Ibadan, has donated digital equipment valued at N1.7 million to enhance educational quality at the institution.
The donation includes digital cameras, a digital console and other equipment.
During the Presentation, which was part of the class’s 37th annual reunion, the class administrator, Pastor Banke Jesse, stated that the equipment would improve the students’ learning experience.
She emphasized the importance of combining theoretical knowledge with practical application to build successful careers.
“We are aware that the school has studio, but lack adequate equipment,
“We felt it is necessary to contribute to the studios – the print studio, the broadcast studio; the radio station, which has just been licensed.
“This is our way of ensuring students receive a well- rounded education,” Jesse said.

Dr Olusoji Olatunji, Head of the Mass Communication Department expressed gratitude to the alumni for their continued support.
Noting that the equipment would advance students’ digital learning and expose them to modern mass communication practices.
” The equipment will bridge the gap between classroom instruction and real-world applications.
Most especially in our television and radio studios, shaping the digital future of our students,” Olatunji said.
Dr. Najeemdeen Adunola, the immediate past Head of Department, also thanked the class for their consistent contributions.
He also highlight the importance of such gestures in complementing government efforts to fund education.
Adunola said the donation would benefit the increasing number of students in the department, ensuring they receive quality education.
