The Tinubu Media Volunteers, TMV, has expressed that President Bola Tinubu’s first media chat demonstrates his pragmatic approach to addressing the nation’s current economic challenges.

In a statement issued by the group’s Chairman, Chukwudi Enekwechi, and Secretary, Sunday Shedrach, TMV emphasized that the president’s remarks reflected a strong belief in the effectiveness of his reform strategies.

The group highlighted that during the media chat, President Bola Tinubu revealed his administration’s plan to acquire 2,000 tractors for Nigerian farmers.

This initiative is intended to kick-start the government’s agricultural mechanization program.

It is reassuring that the president acknowledged the need for a shift from the traditional agricultural practices of past generations.

TMV further noted that the policy is expected to improve food security and significantly contribute to poverty reduction.

In a similar vein, President Tinubu recognized the difficulties posed by the fuel subsidy removal but was quick to point out that “the policy has led to healthy competition, thereby making the commodity available as prices have started dropping.”

He explained that “this is the hallmark of a free market economy which government is encouraging.”

Moreover, he affirmed that “the policy has eliminated monopoly and corruption in the sector to the benefit of all Nigerians,” according to TMV.

The group also noted that the president used the media chat to address various concerns regarding the fuel subsidy removal.

Additionally, TMV stated that President Tinubu reassured the nation of a hopeful future and reiterated the government’s determination to address the challenges arising from the ongoing economic reforms.
