Nollywood actress and box office star Funke Akindele achieves another remarkable milestone as her latest film, ‘Everybody Loves Jenifa,’ grosses over N1 billion within three weeks.
In a post on X.com on Monday Akindele disclosed that ‘Everybody Loves Jenifa’ has become the second Nollywood film to hit the N1 billion mark within the last 12 months, achieving a cumulative total of ₦1,034,091,220.
The movie has also made history by becoming the fastest Nollywood title to reach the N1 billion threshold, doing so in just 19 days.
The film has reportedly dominated the December box office, accounting for about 40% of the total revenue with 202,604 admissions.
Akindele notes that this success has solidified her position as the “highest-grossing producer and director,” with her holding the record for the “top 4 highest-grossing Nollywood films.”
Akindele expresses gratitude to her fans, saying: “God did! Thank you, Jenifans, for supporting Everybody Loves Jenifa!
“We couldn’t have gotten here without you.”

Everybody Loves Jenifa in International cinemas
The success of Everybody Loves Jenifa is not limited to Nigeria.
The film also made its international debut on December 20. Just eight days after the film has earned an impressive $194,560 (approximately N300 million) across various countries outside Africa.
The countries includes the UK, US, Canada, and other regions.
Funke Akindele is known for her success at the box office.
Earlier in 2024, her film ‘A Tribe Called Judah’ also broke box office records. It soon became the first Nollywood film to gross ₦1 billion within 21 days of its release.
Everybody Loves Jenifa is a 2024 Nigerian English-language comedy-drama film directed by Funke Akindele and Tunde Olaoye.
The film was produced by Funke Ayotunde Akindele Network in collaboration with Olayemi Oshodi and distributed by FilmOne Distributions.
In Everybody Loves Jenifa, she returns as the popular character Jenifa, delivering humour, drama, and suspense that audiences love.
