The Benue State Government has responded to an emergency created when a woman reportedly gave birth to a set of twins on a road in Ipav Mbaikpur, Gboko Local Government Area

The incident occurred along the Gboko-Katsina/Ala road. Eyewitness said the woman went into labor unexpectedly while on the busy road. As she gave birth, she reportedly threw the first of the two newborns onto the roadside.

Passersby were quick to respond to the scene, immediately rushing to assist both the mother and her babies.

The first child, who had been abandoned on the road, was quickly picked up and brought to safety.

Fortunately, both the mother and her newborns were transported to a nearby hospital where they were provided with the necessary medical care.

The situation has raised serious concerns about the woman’s mental state and the circumstances surrounding the birth.

Local authorities are reportedly investigating the matter, though it is not yet clear whether any further interventions will be made in regard to the woman’s well-being or the future care of the children.

This tragic event has captured the attention of many, drawing public concern for the safety and health of vulnerable individuals in the region.

It also serves as a stark reminder of the challenges faced by those experiencing mental health crises, particularly in remote or under-resourced areas, where immediate medical or psychological help may be out of reach.
