Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has made key appointments to strengthen governance and elevate the state’s development strategy.
The Governor has approved the appointment of Collins Edomaruse as his Special Adviser on International Development Partners, while Dr. Tony Ikpasaja steps into the role of Managing Director of Edo State Geographic Information Service, EDOGIS.

Collins Edomaruse brings to his new role a vast wealth of experience in governance and journalism.
With a solid journalism background, he has reported, analyzed, and interrogated societal issues across various beats, serving in senior editorial roles at THISDAY and later founding METROWATCH, where he served as Publisher and Editor-in-Chief.
Edomaruse is also a fellow of the Nigerian Guild of Editors and a member of the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers.
Meanwhile, Dr. Tony Ikpasaja, a former Principal Private Secretary to the Governor, has assumed his duties at EDOGIS following the retirement of the former Managing Director, ESV Osaro Grace Aihie.
On his first day in office, January 6, 2025, Dr. Ikpasaja engaged with top management staff, outlining Governor Okpebholo’s expectations.
He emphasized the need for teamwork, strategy upscaling, and driving the agency to greater heights.
Ikpasaja’s career spans journalism, governance, academia, and infrastructure development.
A Ph.D. holder specializing in infrastructure development and multinational agencies, he started in Vanguard Newspapers before joining THISDAY, where he honed his skills.
In 2003, he became Press Secretary to PDP BOT Chairman Chief Tony Anenih and later held various governmental advisory roles.
Until recently, he served as Principal Private Secretary to Governor Okpebholo and was a member of the 2024 Transition Committee.
Both appointments reflect Governor Okpebholo’s commitment to leveraging expertise from diverse fields to propel Edo State’s development.
