The Lagos State Taskforce has arrested 53 individuals suspected of engaging in illegal drug dealings during a major crackdown at Gowon Estate, Ipaja.
This operation, carried out after weeks of thorough surveillance, specifically targeted known hotspots for drug trafficking in the area, including locations such as 31 Road Junction, Bless Jah Street, Adenle Crescent, Owo Omo Osho Street, and parts of Okunola Road, all within the Mosan-Okunola LCDA, Alimosho Local Government Area.
During the operation, law enforcement officials discovered a significant haul of illicit substances, including Colorado, marijuana, tramadol capsules, codeine syrups, and what is suspected to be Canadian loud.
Additionally, equipment commonly used in the drug trade such as marijuana crushers and weighing scales was seized by the taskforce.
Sources disclose that the arrested drug dealers had been targeting vulnerable young men and women, enticing them into the illegal trade with cash payments and various incentives.

Those who resisted were allegedly subjected to intimidation and threats from local cult gangs who have been known to operate in the area.
Currently, all the suspects are in custody, where they will face charges in court.
The Lagos State Taskforce has reiterated its commitment to eliminating drug-related activities across the state, emphasizing that the safety and well-being of residents remain a top priority.
