Controversial music artiste, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has reported to the Ogun State Police Command after being declared wanted for allegedly leading a violent attack on government officials.
Police spokesperson CSP Omolola Odutola confirmed that the singer voluntarily surrendered at exactly 1:23 p.m. on Wednesday at the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Eleweran, Abeokuta.
His surrender follows a court order declaring him wanted after he was accused of attacking officials of the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development.
The officials—identified as TPL Onabanjo Abidemi, TPL Raymond Lateef, and TPL Ridwan Oyero Akinlesi—were conducting an enforcement exercise on February 5, 2025, at Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu Ota, when they encountered Portable’s father at Odogwu Bar.
The Police disclosed that the officials had identified themselves and requested the approved building plan for the premises but were informed that Portable was unavailable.
Shortly after, the singer allegedly arrived armed with a firearm and other dangerous weapons, leading a gang of nine thugs in a violent assault on the unarmed officers. The officials sustained various injuries before escaping and reporting the incident to the authorities.
Nine accomplices were arrested, but Portable fled the scene and ignored multiple police invitations, leading to his official declaration as a wanted person. The police warned that anyone found aiding or harboring him would face legal consequences.
Now in custody, Portable is under investigation, with Odutola assuring that due process will be followed. She urged the public to remain calm, avoid spreading unverified information, and trust in the police’s commitment to justice and public order.
