The battle for the future of TikTok in the U.S. is intensifying as four groups compete to acquire the popular video-sharing app. President Donald Trump hinted on Sunday that a deal could be imminent but remained tight-lipped on specifics.

Speaking onboard Air Force One, Trump confirmed ongoing negotiations, stating, “We’re dealing with four different groups. And a lot of people want it, and it’s up to me.” He described all the contenders as “good” but did not reveal their identities.

The urgency to sell the app follows a U.S. law requiring its parent company, ByteDance, to divest or face a ban due to national security concerns. Officials worry that the Chinese government could exploit the app for surveillance or influence campaigns.

TikTok temporarily shut down in January before Trump suspended the ban for further talks with Beijing, allowing it to return to app stores in February.

Potential buyers include Frank McCourt’s Project Liberty initiative, which launched “The People’s Bid for TikTok.” Tech giants Microsoft and Oracle are also in the race, alongside a group featuring popular internet creator MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson.

Despite the mounting pressure, TikTok appears reluctant to sell, leaving its fate in the U.S. uncertain.
