The Governing Council of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, UDUS, has terminated the employment of three staff members due to serious misdemeanor.
These breaches include altering academic results, engaging in sexual harassment, and abandoning their duties.
The council’s decision was formalized during the university’s 171st regular meeting held on March 12, 2025, and was conveyed through an official statement issued by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Ismail Yauri.
The university highlighted that the dismissals are in accordance with its strict “zero tolerance” policy towards unethical behavior, emphasizing the institution’s commitment to upholding academic integrity and providing a safe environment for all members of the university community.

UDUS, recognized as a leading academic institution in northern Nigeria, has long prioritized ethical conduct among both staff and students.
The recent terminations serve as a clear message to all that violations of the university’s code of conduct will not be tolerated.
At the time of reporting, attempts to gather further information regarding the identities of the dismissed staff or any potential legal proceedings were unsuccessful.
While some students have praised the university’s firm stance on discipline, others are calling for increased transparency in the handling of such cases.
