Determined to sustain the fight against insurgency, the Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum has donated 110 operational vehicles, 500 motorcycles, and 280 houses to security agencies.

At the Government House in Maiduguri Friday,  the Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun praised Zulum as a “performing governor” dedicated to tackling crime in the North East.

Sixty vehicles were allocated to the Nigerian Police, while the military received 50 vehicles and 500 motorcycles. The police also got 220 houses at Mai Mala Buni Estate, 20 at Kashim Shettima Estate, and 40 at Wulari, all in Maiduguri.

Governor Zulum emphasized the importance of equipping security forces to enhance their efficiency and response capabilities.

“Today marks a significant step in our commitment to strengthening Borno’s security. These operational tools will enhance mobility, improve response times, and bolster efforts against crime,” Zulum said.

The governor acknowledged President Bola Tinubu’s role in supporting security forces and pledged continued collaboration with them.

“We realized that without security, our state’s recovery from insurgency would not yield results. Supporting our forces is an investment in safety and progress,” he stated.

Inspector-General Egbetokun expressed gratitude for the government’s support, assuring that the assets would be deployed immediately to strengthen security efforts.

“These vehicles and motorcycles will improve emergency response and enhance patrols across Borno,” he said.

The initiative reinforces Borno’s commitment to restoring peace and safeguarding lives and property.
