A National Youth Service Corps, member has stirred online discussions after receiving an unexpected credit alert of ₦777,000 instead of the new allowance of ₦77,000 paid to corps members.

In a video circulating on social media, the corps member expressed shock upon discovering the excess payment in her account. Concerned about potential repercussions, she announced her decision to report the matter to the appropriate authorities.

She narrated how she woke up, checked her phone, and was stunned to see the unusually high deposit. Worried that keeping silent might lead to accusations, she declared her intention to visit her bank, the police station, and her Local Government Inspector to clarify the situation.

“I received an alert of ₦777K instead of the ₦77K they’re paying others. My own 7 is three. I’m going to the police station to report, I’ll also visit my LGI office and inform my bank before I get accused of not raising an alarm,” she stated.

Her public disclosure has since sparked mixed reactions online, with many social media users debating whether they would have returned excess allowance if faced with a similar situation.

The incident has drawn attention on social media, with various individuals sharing their thoughts. Some applauded her honesty, while others joked about keeping the money or fleeing.
