Many travellers were killed Sunday when a bus crashed along Malumfasi-Kafur Road in Katsina State, owing to over speeding.
Mr. Aliyu Ma’aji, Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, in a statement disclosed that investigations indicate that the crash involved a bus carrying 20 occupants. The driver’s excessive speeding led to a loss of control, causing the tragic accident. The bus, a Hummer, was traveling from Malumfasi town when the crash occurred.
The accident resulted in the deaths of multiple passengers, with 11 others rescued and receiving treatment for various injuries. The survivors were rushed to a nearby hospital, where they are currently undergoing medical care.

Mr. Ma’aji urged motorists to exercise caution and avoid reckless driving, especially during the festive period. He emphasized the importance of adhering to safe driving practices, despite the government’s efforts to construct good roads.
The FRSC commander’s warning serves as a timely reminder of the dangers of speeding and reckless driving.
As the investigation into the crash continues, the community comes together to mourn the loss of life and pray for the speedy recovery of the injured.
