Shehu Sani, former Senator representing Kaduna Central, has disclosed his plans to run for re-election in the 2027 general elections.

While delivering his Eid-el-Fitr message at his Kaduna residence, Sani explained that his decision to contest would depend on the political dynamics at the time, stating, “The political equation that determines the position to vie for plays a key role. If the conditions are favourable, I will offer myself to contest for the Kaduna Central senatorial seat.”

However, he emphasized that his personal political ambitions are secondary to the goal of securing a second term for Governor Uba Sani.

“At this point, our main priority is ensuring Governor Uba Sani’s re-election. We will dedicate all our resources and energy to this cause. Despite the challenges and opposition we may face, we are ready to confront all forces,” he affirmed.

In his Eid-el-Fitr address, Sani also called on Muslims to pray for Nigeria’s peace and unity.

He condemned the recent killings of hunters in Edo State, urging law enforcement to bring the responsible individuals to justice.

Sani expressed concern over the state of security in the country, stating, “If citizens cannot move freely within our borders, then we are not a nation. If people take the law into their own hands, it shows the absence of government authority.”

The former senator further urged Nigerians to collaborate in promoting peace and unity, underscoring the importance of preserving democracy amid the nation’s current challenges.

He also stressed the need for the government to safeguard fundamental human rights, especially the right to life, as essential for the country’s stability and progress.
