Plans are underway to transform Ogun State into a creative and cultural hub as Governor Dapo Abiodun partners with Terra Kulture to establish a film and entertainment village.
The governor described the initiative as a means of preserving the legacies of trailblazers in music, film, drama, and entertainment. He disclosed this while hosting Terra Kulture’s Chief Executive Officer, Bolanle Austen Peters, at his office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
Governor Abiodun noted that the proposed film village aligns with his administration’s vision to develop a creative arts and entertainment zone, a plan that had to be postponed due to other pressing needs upon assuming office.
He explained that his government initially prioritized basic welfare and infrastructure, stressing that a society must first be comfortable before it can truly appreciate arts and entertainment.
With the state’s current progress, the governor expressed readiness to push forward in areas of culture, music, and tourism, indicating that the first phase of the film village project is expected to take shape within 60 days.
Abiodun added that the state government is willing to invest in the project alongside Terra Kulture and would entrust the running and operations of the village to the company.
