Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has vowed that those responsible for the recent wave of violence in the state—along with their sponsors—will face justice.
In a statewide broadcast addressing the security situation, he condemned the attacks and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to restoring peace and order.
“As your governor, I remain steadfast. Plateau shall not be overrun by fear, nor shall we accept this culture of bloodshed as the new normal,” Mutfwang declared.
“Let it be known that the Plateau spirit is resilient. We are a people of peace, renowned for our hospitality and unity across religious and ethnic lines.”
He assured residents that those seeking to divide the state through violence would not succeed.
“To the killers and their sponsors, know this: your evil shall not go unpunished. You may run, but you will not hide. Plateau will prevail. Plateau will not fall. Plateau will stand tall and continue to flourish, to the glory of God.”
Governor Mutfwang highlighted steps already taken to prevent further violence and assured citizens that his government is fully committed to its constitutional duty of protecting lives and property.
“My administration is intensifying efforts to enforce the rule of law and safeguard our communities across all local government areas,” he said.

He also announced the activation of community-based response systems and called on traditional leaders and youth associations to support the effort.
“I urge local leaders and youth groups to reactivate vigilante networks and organize night patrols in coordination with security agencies,” he said.
To reinforce security and restore calm, the governor introduced the following immediate measures, effective Wednesday, April 16:
– Night grazing of cattle is strictly prohibited.
– Transportation of cattle by vehicle is banned after 7:00 p.m.
– The use of motorcycles is restricted between 7:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. across the state until further notice.
Governor Mutfwang reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering resolve to protect the people of Plateau State and ensure justice is served.
