President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria on Monday after spending two weeks on a working visit to France and the United Kingdom.
The President departed the country on April 2 for Paris, France, where he held a high-level meeting with Mr Massad Boulos, Senior Advisor for Africa at the United States Department of State.
The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation to boost regional security and promote sustainable economic development across Africa.
In France, President Tinubu engaged with officials on strategic partnerships aimed at addressing common challenges in security and trade. The discussions covered ways to advance Nigeria’s economic priorities through multilateral collaboration and improve regional peacebuilding efforts.
Following his engagements in Paris, Tinubu proceeded to London over the weekend. While in the United Kingdom, he continued consultations and stayed in close communication with top government officials in Abuja. Throughout his visit, he monitored national developments and provided directives where needed.

During his absence, the Presidency said the President remained fully involved in governance. He was briefed regularly by heads of security agencies and cabinet members on key national issues, including emerging threats in parts of the country and progress on economic reforms.
His return to Nigeria on Monday, April 21, was confirmed by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, in a brief statement posted on his official X handle. The message stated: “President Bola Tinubu will return home today.”
Tinubu is expected to resume official duties at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. His schedule in the coming days includes meetings with federal executive council members and security briefings.
The Presidency described the visit as a continuation of the administration’s foreign engagement strategy. It forms part of broader efforts to build strong alliances and attract investment to support the government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
This is President Tinubu’s second international trip this year, following earlier visits aimed at fostering diplomatic and economic ties with Nigeria’s global partners.
