Fresh outrage has followed the release of Stephen Ifeanyichukwu Ejezie, a former Access Bank employee accused of secretly filming his colleagues in restrooms.
Ejezie, a former quality assurance specialist at the bank’s contact centre in Oniru, Lagos State, was caught secretly recording his female colleagues in the restroom.
He was apprehended around 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 23, after a female staff member discovered a hidden phone recording her while she was bathing.
Following his arrest, police raided Ejezie’s residence, where they reportedly uncovered more than 400 videos stored on his laptop and flash drives.
The clips featured male and female colleagues, some of whom were unaware they had been recorded while naked or showering at the office.
Further findings showed that Ejezie had been selling these videos online. Sources disclosed that he operated an OnlyFans account and also sold content via Telegram, targeting foreign buyers, including white and Indian nationals.
Although Access Bank swiftly ordered his arrest, staff members allege that management is now prioritising the bank’s reputation over the welfare of its employees.
There are fears that no substantial legal action will be pursued against Ejezie, who has already been released from police custody.
“Many of us are traumatised. We don’t even know if we are among those recorded,” one staff member lamented. “The fear that these videos could resurface when we least expect is haunting.”

A Friday morning meeting convened by the bank’s management to address the issue has failed to calm staff anxiety. Workers were instead warned that staying overnight at the office was now banned, and they were cautioned that future incidents could lead to severe jail terms.
Multiple staff members described the internal handling of the matter as an attempt to silence victims and suppress public attention. “We are just contract staff. Any little thing, and you’re tossed aside,” said a worker.
Ejezie’s colleagues described him as a seemingly trustworthy and caring individual, making the revelations all the more shocking.
Hired as a contact centre agent in February 2023 and later promoted to quality assurance specialist by October, Ejezie had earned the trust of his peers.
The circumstances of his arrest were particularly disturbing. Staff disclosed that Ejezie intentionally entered the women’s restroom, hiding inside a toilet cubicle to plant his recording device. A female employee caught him when she spotted the hidden phone while bathing.
Upon confrontation, Ejezie claimed he did not know how he entered the female restroom but failed to provide an explanation for the camera recordings.
The fear of long-term consequences weighs heavily on staffers. Some worry about the devastating impact leaked videos could have on their personal and professional lives, especially for those who might pursue public careers in the future.
Despite multiple efforts to reach Access Bank for comments, the institution had not responded to media enquiries at press time.
