Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has celebrated the dedication of workers across Kwara State, describing them as vital to economic growth and social progress.

In a statement issued during the 2025 International Workers’ Day celebration, the Governor extended warm wishes to workers across the public and private sectors, describing them as the backbone of the economy and essential to shaping society’s future.

He specifically lauded civil servants, artisans, farmers, factory workers, teachers, health professionals, engineers, and others for their resilience and commitment to service.

Governor Abdulrazaq reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to build a state where workers thrive, where decent employment is created, and where each career path is supported to flourish.

“We are determined to implement policies that strengthen our civil service, grow the economy, attract investments, and expand job opportunities,” he said.

He highlighted the administration’s strides in maintaining financial stability, paying salaries promptly, supporting entrepreneurship, and providing social safety nets, describing them as evidence of responsible governance.

As the global labour landscape evolves with advancements in technology, automation, and artificial intelligence, Abdulrazaq stressed the importance of adaptation.

He pointed to several state-led initiatives including the Innovation Hub, Visual Arts Centre, and ICT centres as strategic responses to the emerging future of work.

“These initiatives are designed to help our people prepare not just for the jobs of today, but for the opportunities of tomorrow,” he noted.

The Governor also commended Labour leaders for their partnership in advancing workers’ interests and ensuring industrial harmony.

He expressed gratitude for the vital role workers have played in the state’s achievements, and wished everyone a fulfilling and inspiring Workers’ Day celebration.

The May Day celebration, globally recognised, honours the contributions and rights of workers and remains a significant reminder of the value of labour in national development.

Governor Abdulrazaq’s message aligns with this year’s theme, focusing on innovation, sustainability, and inclusive growth in the workplace.
