Victor Osimhen’s reported agreement to join Saudi Arabian giants Al Hilal is now under threat, as Italian side Juventus prepare an ambitious bid to hijack the move.
The Nigerian striker, who is currently enjoying a prolific loan spell at Turkish champions Galatasaray from Napoli, has netted 33 goals across all competitions this season — 24 in the Turkish Super Lig, 3 in the domestic cup, and 6 in the UEFA Europa League — his best goal return yet.
According to football journalist Jacob Ben speaking on The Football Terrace YouTube channel, Osimhen had previously expressed strong interest in moving to Saudi Arabia, citing the financial benefits as “too good to turn down.” Al Hilal, who are gearing up for the FIFA Club World Cup, have now set their sights on making a renewed approach for the 26-year-old forward in the coming weeks.

However, Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport reports that Juventus are not prepared to let Osimhen go without a fight. While his current €75 million release clause applies only to non-Italian clubs, Juve plan to bypass that barrier by submitting an improved €85 million offer directly to Napoli. Their proposal reportedly includes bonuses, add-ons, and favorable clauses designed to appeal to Napoli’s management, who are open to cashing in on the striker to fund a broader squad rebuild.
The final decision rests with Napoli, who are believed to be weighing both offers closely. Osimhen’s desire for a high-value transfer and Champions League football could be a decisive factor in the weeks ahead, especially as Al Hilal and Juventus ramp up negotiations.
The coming transfer window could mark another record-breaking move for Osimhen, who joined Napoli from Lille in 2020 for a fee that made him the most expensive African player at the time.
