The Federal High Court in Abuja will hear a contempt charge filed by Senate President Godswill Akpabio against Senator Natasha Akpoti-Udughan over an alleged social media post in violation of a court order.
Justice Binta Nyako adjourned the matter to Tuesday at 12 p.m. and also set to hear a separate contempt charge filed by Akpoti-Udughan against Akpabio and others, accusing them of disobeying an earlier court order.
Justice Nyako ordered that a copy of the Senate rules be provided ahead of tomorrow’s proceedings.
This development follows a complaint by Akpabio’s lawyer, Kehinde Ogunwumiju, SAN, that Akpoti-Udughan had violated the court’s April 4 directive, which prohibited all parties in a related case from granting media interviews or posting on social media concerning the case.

Akpabio’s motion accuses Akpoti-Udughan of breaching the court’s order by posting a “satirical letter” on her Facebook page.
In response, Akpoti-Udughan had earlier filed a contempt charge, accusing the Senate, Akpabio, and others of defying a court order that barred any actions against her pending the resolution of the case.
The embattled senator had sued Akpabio, the Clerk of the National Assembly, and other Senate officials, including Senator Neda Imasuem, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Code of Conduct, for their involvement in her suspension.
