More than 60 people were killed in a series of heavy Israeli air and ground strikes across the Gaza Strip, according to Palestinian medics who spoke to local media on Tuesday.
The latest assault forms part of Israel’s intensified “Gideon’s Chariots” military operation, aimed at eliminating Hamas and regaining control of all areas within the coastal enclave.
The renewed bombardment comes just a day after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to completely destroy Hamas and occupy every part of Gaza, despite growing international concern over the escalating humanitarian crisis.
According to reports from WAFA News Agency, at least 12 casualties were recorded in Deir al-Balah, a city in central Gaza. Additional fatalities were reported in Khan Younis to the south and in areas surrounding Gaza City.
Since the latest offensive began Friday night, daily death tolls have surpassed 100, making this one of the deadliest phases of the conflict in recent months.

Israel maintains that its military actions are necessary to dismantle Hamas’ operational structure and rescue hostages who remain in militant custody following the October 7, 2023, attacks.
Despite the aggression, Netanyahu on Monday allowed limited humanitarian aid into Gaza for the first time in nearly three months.
The move followed mounting international pressure, as humanitarian agencies warned that over 2 million Palestinians trapped in the enclave were on the brink of famine.
As strikes continue across the densely populated territory, fears grow that the situation may spiral further, with little progress on ceasefire talks or humanitarian relief.
