The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has promised that the 2025 budget will prioritise the completion of 14 ongoing road construction projects in the capital.
Wike, who made the announcement while presenting the FCT’s proposed budget for 2025, emphasised that the administration is focused on finishing critical infrastructure already in progress rather than starting new projects. According to him, the 14 roads under construction are at various stages of completion, and adequate funding has been allocated to ensure they are delivered within the next fiscal year.

The Minister stated that his goal is to enhance mobility, reduce traffic congestion, and stimulate economic activity through improved road networks in the capital city.
He reiterated that the FCT administration is committed to transparency, efficiency, and value-for-money in all infrastructure-related expenditures.
While Wike did not name the specific roads, insiders say the projects span strategic parts of the city, including the Central Business District, satellite towns, and residential districts that have long suffered from poor connectivity.
The budget is expected to be reviewed and passed by the National Assembly in the coming weeks.
