Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka has claimed second place in the club’s 2024/25 Player of the Season award after another exceptional campaign, marked by consistency, resilience, and historic milestones, despite a three-month injury setback.
A former winner of the accolade in the 2020/21 and 2021/22 seasons, Saka came close once again, finishing just behind teammate Kai Havertz.
The 23-year-old delivered 12 goals and 13 assists in 37 matches across all competitions, making him one of only three Premier League players—alongside Mohamed Salah and Bruno Fernandes—to record double-digit goals and assists for three consecutive seasons.
Saka started the campaign in sensational form. In an early-season burst, he became the second player in Premier League history to assist in his team’s first five fixtures of the season, emulating club legend Thierry Henry’s 2004/05 record.
His early numbers were staggering: 11 Premier League assists in his first 12 appearances. However, a hamstring injury derailed his momentum in late November, sidelining him for three months.

Despite the setback, Saka returned in style. He scored the match-winner against Fulham in April upon his comeback, and soon after etched his name into European headlines with a superb strike at the Santiago Bernabéu against Real Madrid in the Champions League quarterfinals. He followed that up with another crucial goal against Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-final.
Back in December, before his injury, he achieved a rare feat by scoring and assisting in three consecutive games—against Nottingham Forest, Sporting Lisbon, and West Ham—becoming the first Arsenal player to do so since Cesc Fabregas in 2007.
That same month, Saka marked his 250th appearance for the club with a performance at Crystal Palace.
Even with limited Premier League minutes, the England international was among the division’s top creators. Only Salah and Cole Palmer registered more big chances than Saka’s 21, and he led Arsenal in successful dribbles (41) and possession recoveries in the final third.
No other Gunner was involved in as many goals (25), solidifying his role as the team’s most dangerous attacking outlet.
Saka’s continued excellence despite physical challenges earned him admiration from fans and pundits alike.
His technical brilliance, football intelligence, and leadership on the pitch are now synonymous with Arsenal’s identity under Mikel Arteta.
The club released a video compilation of Saka’s best moments from the season, showcasing his flair, vision, and finishing ability.
Whether setting up teammates or scoring vital goals, Bukayo Saka remains one of the brightest talents in world football.
With another strong season under his belt, Saka’s contributions have once again proven indispensable.
Though he narrowly missed out on being named Player of the Season, his performances continue to place him among the elite in European football.
