The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun has strengthened the operational capability of the Nigeria Police Force by commissioning major assets — a state-of-the-art Police Mechanical Workshop in Abuja and 40 new tactical and operational vehicles.
Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi disclosed that the newly commissioned Police Mechanical Workshop, located at Dei-Dei, Abuja, is equipped with cutting-edge technology and infrastructure to ensure the efficient maintenance of police tactical and operational vehicles.
This move is expected to significantly reduce vehicle downtime, improve response time, and maintain the operational readiness of officers during critical security situations.
Additionally, the IGP also unveiled 40 tactical vehicles, including anti-riot water cannon trucks and Armored Personnel Carriers during a brief commissioning ceremony held at the Force Headquarters in Abuja. These assets are projected to strengthen riot control, tactical responses, and high-risk operations nationwide.
While addressing officers and stakeholders at the event, the IGP reaffirmed the Police Force’s unwavering commitment to confronting security threats head-on, warning individuals and groups that seek to disrupt Nigeria’s peace and order.

These efforts are part of a strategic transformation agenda aimed at delivering safety and justice across all states of the federation.
