Security operatives have arrested 22 suspects linked to the brutal killing of 12 Kaduna State indigenes on Saturday, as they were headed to a wedding ceremony in neighbouring Plateau State.
Governor Uba Sani disclosed this on Monday during a visit to the survivors at the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital in Kaduna. According to him, the victims were attacked in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State, where some were reportedly set ablaze inside the bus they were travelling in, while others managed to escape with injuries.
Describing the incident as barbaric, Governor Sani confirmed he is in close contact with Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang and President Bola Tinubu to ensure justice is served.

He praised the people of Kaduna for maintaining peace despite the horrific provocation and urged local leaders in Plateau to restrain their communities from such violent acts.
The victims had been travelling from Zaria, Kaduna State, to attend a wedding in Quan Pan Local Government Area of Plateau when they were ambushed by a mob in the Mangun District. The attack left 12 dead and several others injured.
Governor Sani called on security agencies to ensure that all perpetrators are not only arrested but swiftly prosecuted to serve as a deterrent against future acts of violence.
