A horrifying case of child abuse has emerged from Christ Ambassador International Mission School in Eagle Island, Obio-Akpor Local Government Area, where teachers allegedly subjected a 13-year-old girl to brutal flogging and burns from a hot pressing iron over accusations of stealing ₦30,000.
The traumatized girl recounted that the ordeal began when her aunt reported missing ₦30,000. Despite insisting on her innocence, her mother’s pastor allegedly accused her of the theft.
“They kept asking me from Tuesday till today. I told them it wasn’t me,” the girl said, her voice trembling. “Then my mother reported me to the school. They beat me… beat me… then used an iron to burn me.”
Prince Wiro, National Coordinator of the Center for Basic Rights Protection and Accountability Campaign, said his team intervened when enraged community members nearly lynched the teachers involved.

The incident has sparked nationwide outrage, with rights activists condemning the abuse as a form of torture.
Wiro’s organization is demanding imediate arrest and prosecution of the teachers involved, urgent medical treatment and trauma counseling for the victim and full investigation into the school’s disciplinary practices.
Public calls for justice continue to mount as the case unfolds.
