President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Wednesday, inaugurated the over N16 billion Lafia flyover and underpass during a one-day working visit to Nasarawa State.
The President, while commissioning the project, his first of several during the visit praised Governor Abdullahi Sule for his prudent management of resources and dedication to improving the lives of the people.
“Thank you very much. May God bless the state. I therefore commission the project,” Tinubu declared.
Earlier in his remarks, Governor Sule expressed gratitude to the President for honouring the state with his presence and for commissioning projects executed under his administration.

“This is the first project you are commissioning for us. It is a combination of an underpass and a flyover, spanning one kilometre,” the governor said.
“This road was completed within one year thanks to your economic reforms and our determination to improve the lives of our people. We paid the contractors in full—100 percent without borrowing a single naira,” Sule added.
He announced that the infrastructure would be officially named the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Interchange.
The News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, in a statement said, this marks President Tinubu’s first official visit to Nasarawa State since assuming office in 2023.
Other projects scheduled for commissioning during the visit include the dualised 5-kilometre Shendam Road, a modern state secretariat complex, agricultural tractors, operational vehicles for security agencies, and official cars for traditional rulers
