Nigerian music icon Innocent Ujah Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has described his troubled marriage to actress Annie Macaulay-Idibia as a form of “bondage.”
In a snippet from an upcoming episode of the +234 Mzansi Podcast, co-hosted by Nigerian comedians Nedu and Acapella alongside South African media personality Kifilwe, 2Baba spoke candidly about the emotional turmoil he experienced during the marriage.

“This thing wey dem call ‘living in bondage’ is real,” he said. “There were some people who were ready to kill me,” he added, alluding to the intense challenges he faced while married to Annie.
2Baba and Annie got married in May 2012 after several years of dating. Their union produced two daughters, Isabella and Olivia, but was often plagued by controversies, including allegations of infidelity and emotional drama on social media.
The singer officially announced their separation on January 26, 2025, drawing widespread attention from fans and the public. Shortly after, 2Baba made his relationship with Natasha Osawuru, an Edo State House of Assembly member public.
Their relationship quickly progressed, leading to a traditional wedding in Benue State, reportedly attended by close family members and his kinsmen.
Meanwhile, Annie has remained silent on the matter, as many await her response to 2Baba’s revelation that their marriage felt like being in bondage.
