Police busts robbery ring, recovers stolen items

Over 100 household and electronic items recovered in Ibiono Ibom as police intensify crackdown on criminal activity.

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested a suspected armed robber and recovered numerous stolen items in the Mbiabam community of Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Timfon John, in Uyo.

“The Akwa Ibom Police Command, in its continuous efforts to combat crime, has recorded another major breakthrough with the recovery of stolen items in Ibiono Ibom,” John stated.

According to her, the suspect was apprehended on Sunday.

The following items were recovered: four sets of drums, six guitars, 15 mixers, two equalisers, two amplifiers, eight gas cylinders, 25 speakers, two ovens, two gas coolers, three keyboards, and 11 stabilisers.

Other recovered items include: one washing machine, five compact discs, a giant ceiling fan, five generators, two coils of DSTV cable, one Dell laptop, nine desktop computer monitors, and 13 television sets.

Additionally, the police recovered electric irons, a sonic insect killer, two electric kettles, a motor battery, ten microphones, one DSTV decoder, one Sony decoder, six DVD sets, two tomba drums, five standing fans, and two cymbals.

John urged individuals who may have lost any of these items to visit the Command Headquarters in Uyo with proof of ownership to claim their property.

She added that investigations are ongoing to apprehend the suspect’s accomplices, who are currently at large. NAN
