The anticipation hung thick in the air — a promise of discovery, wrapped in the ambience of a brewing love. A planned getaway to Qatar with her lover, but the government had counter plans.
Blessing CEO and IVD — what caused this unexpected turn of events?
Let inquisitiveness unveil that which is hidden.
In 2022, the saga began. Nigerian businessman Ikechukwu Ogbonna, popularly known as IVD, was thrust into the spotlight following the tragic death of his wife, Bimbo.
As emotions ran high and fingers pointed in all directions, one voice stood out in bold defence of IVD: relationship therapist and social media personality Blessing Okoro, known as Blessing CEO.
Barely days after Bimbo’s passing, Blessing took to social media, launching an aggressive defence campaign.
She claimed to have evidence proving IVD’s innocence and accused Bimbo of being the abuser in the marriage. Her fiery posts and videos flooded Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
“IVD is not a murderer,” she asserted. “Bimbo was the toxic one.”
Her controversial defence earned her instant backlash from Nigerians.
Critics accused her of victim-blaming and romanticizing abuse. Still, she remained unshaken. In March 2023, her bold support for IVD landed her in legal trouble.
She was arrested by the Nigerian Police for alleged cyberbullying and defamation, reportedly based on complaints from Bimbo’s family. After spending several days in detention, she was released.
In May 2024, Blessing took a surprising turn—offering a public apology to Bimbo’s family. Two years after the tragedy and amidst harsh backlash, she acknowledged she may have engaged insensitively with grieving relatives:
“It took me two years to understand their grief… I will never be too big to say I am sorry when I do wrong.”

As the calendar turned to 2025, Blessing and IVD publicly embraced their relationship with visible pride.
IVD shared a heartfelt New Year’s message on Instagram, expressing deep gratitude to Blessing for standing by him during his darkest moments—times when he allegedly contemplated self-harm.
He credited her with helping him heal and promising a path to truth.
In response, Blessing posted a lengthy tribute, reaffirming her commitment:
“They tried and are still trying—but they don’t know that I am very stubborn with love… I don’t care about your past… For the first time let the world see me love a MAN so right.”
By mid‑2025, new interviews reaffirmed Blessing’s stance. In a January 2025 interview with Sunday Scoop, she told journalists:
“I think I know more about IVD—including all the flaws and vulnerabilities—beyond what media portrays… I haven’t seen any violence or womanising. I’ve just seen a baby.”
She presented their relationship as built on emotional support and healing, rejecting the public’s characterization of him as abusive.
She didn’t stop. Instead, she took her narrative to various podcast platforms, gave multiple interviews, and doubled down on her stance. On social media, she began posting romantic content with IVD, including loved-up pictures and videos. Her captions declared him as “the love of my life,” a move that left many Nigerians appalled and confused.
Despite a pending court case, Blessing and IVD continued flaunting their relationship online. Nigerians watched the drama unfold like a twisted soap opera, with many questioning the depth of her loyalty and others accusing her of leveraging the tragedy for influence.
Then, in August 2025, everything took a wild turn.
Blessing had announced their upcoming trip to Qatar, sharing pictures and excitement online. But shortly after, news broke: IVD had been arrested at the airport.
Reacting to the arrest, Blessing took to Facebook and Instagram to post a fiery statement:
“IVD has never jumped bail for three years. Why would he run for a 10-day trip? One man is using power to bully him. No case file, no statement, just said ‘Oga said hold him till Monday.’ This is a tribal war, not justice.”
She questioned the legality of the arrest, accused the authorities of bias, and demanded to see official paperwork.
Her lengthy rant, laced with accusations of abuse of power, ended with a plea for Lagos State authorities to intervene.
Nigerians once again took to the comment sections, this time under Blessing CEO’s viral posts:
@xxesssxx: “Let’s speak the truth plainly. This isn’t about tribalism, it’s about decency. Both you and IVD have shown a shameful lack of compassion.”
@prettyglen_j: “You go explain taya ”
@chichi4140: “IVD ex-wife’s family thank you for making us proud. Ara CEO, you go explain tire ”
@ifyalamba: “You people talked about a dead woman like she had nobody. If I were her family, I would come for you in particular.”
@ujayjenny: “Fight your battle, sis. You never see anything. This is just the beginning.”
From 2022 till now, Blessing CEO has remained unrepentant in her stance. The story of her loyalty to IVD is as scandalous as it is perplexing. To some, she is delusional.
To others, dangerously loyal. But to most Nigerians, she is a woman who chose the wrong hill to die on.
As IVD remains in custody, questions continue to swirl.
Is this justice or a targeted witch hunt? Is Blessing CEO defending love, or rewriting a dangerous narrative?
Only time — and the law — will tell.
