A shocking comment on Facebook has once again exposed the dark side of online trolling directed at Nigerian comic actor Nwaogu Udochukwu Victor, popularly known as Nkubi, and his family.
A user, identified as Kelvin Sommy Bilions, wrote:
“I will advise you to kpai this girl now she is still little so that the trauma will not be much on her when she finally grows ✊🙏🏻😡. My little advice though 🙏.”
The statement, which openly suggested harming Nkubi’s one-year-old daughter, triggered widespread outrage.
His wife, Vivian, reposted the comment with the caption “the face of a murderer,” calling attention to how cruel and dangerous the abuse towards her family has become.
Unfortunately, this is not the first time the couple has faced such attacks.
From the moment their pre-wedding photos surfaced in 2021, trolls flooded social media with mockery, ridiculing Nkubi’s height and questioning why Vivian chose to marry him.
The birth of their daughter in April 2024 brought another wave of abuse. What should have been a joyous announcement was met with harsh comments about the child’s looks, with trolls cruelly claiming she resembled her father “too much.”
The bullying intensified during their daughter’s first birthday in March 2025, when faceless users suggested she had inherited Nkubi’s condition. Comment sections were littered with ridicule, showing how quickly family celebrations turn into targets for online hate.
Vivian, often at the center of these attacks, has admitted that she avoids reading her comment sections to protect her mental health.
In a BBC News Pidgin interview, she and Nkubi discussed their coping strategies and why they continue to share family moments despite the negativity.
The backlash against trolls has also been strong. Celebrities like Toyin Abraham and many Nigerians have condemned the abuse, urging respect for the family and shame for those mocking a child.
Nkubi, who proudly identifies as a little person, has long balanced a successful career in comedy with stigma from the public.
But the cruelty directed at his wife and daughter highlights a darker side of social media, where even love, marriage, and new life are turned into subjects of ridicule.
