President Bola Tinubu has ordered the reinstatement of Mr. Salihu Dembos as Director-General of the Nigerian Television Authority, NTA, reversing recent management changes at the state-owned broadcaster.
The directive was announced in a statement by Presidential Spokesperson, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, on Tuesday in Abuja.
Dembos, first appointed as NTA DG by Tinubu in October 2023, will now resume his position to complete his three-year tenure.
Similarly, the President recalled Mr. Ayo Adewuyi, Executive Director of News, who was appointed in 2024, to serve out his term which is scheduled to end in 2027.

The presidential directive effectively nullifies the earlier appointment of new officials to the top management of the NTA, including a new Director-General, Executive Director of News, Executive Director of Marketing, and Managing Director of NTA Enterprises.
The News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, reports that Mr. Rotimi Pedro was recently announced as the new DG of NTA in a statement signed by Mr. Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information at the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
With the new directive, Dembos and Adewuyi will continue in their roles until the expiration of their statutory terms.
