Rep. Mohammad Shehu, (NNPP Kano) representing Fagge constituency has staked N300 million in scholarships for indigent students from his constituency.
Shehu told the News Agency of Nigeria in Kano on Saturday that 3,500 students from his constituency, studying at various tertiary institutions, had benefited from the scholarship scheme.
According to the lawmaker, the scholarship scheme covers the period between 2023 and 2025.
“I also supported secondary school students of my constituency with WAEC, NECO and JAMB registration fees between 2023 and 2024,” he said.
He further said that his scholarship initiatives had extended to the constituents at law school, having disbursed N250,000 to 25 to them each.
“This is in addition to construction of block of 6 classrooms and toilets at Na-Tsugune Primary School at Kana area.

” I also provided 2000 sets of school uniforms and demolition and reconstruction of Khairul Bariyyah Islamiyah at Rijiyar Lemo Arwa,” Shehu added.
On health, the lawmaker told NAN that the popular Sabo Garba Clinic at Fagge A, which was demolished for reconstruction, would be upgraded to full hospital when completed.
According to him, when completed, the hospital would have 50 bed spaces, in addition to new theatre unit, laboratory, pharmacy and medical wards for male and female.
“The project is expected to be completed by end of this year and would be commissioned by Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano state.
“When completed, it would be upgraded to secondary health facility to serve not only Fagge people, but the entire Kano state,” he assured.
The lawmaker said he provided a new anaesthesia machine to Sheik Jidda Hospital to enhance maternal health services and
upgraded a primary health centre, pending commissioning.
” We have supported cancer patients with over ₦80 million and conducted eye surgery outreach programs benefiting over 1,000 residents.
” We have also constructed four roads within Sarumburi, with one already underway and others expected to follow.
“We also initiated additional road construction projects, including roads from Jaba and other locations,” he said.
