Nigeria’s U-20 women’s national team, the Falconets continued their impressive form at the ongoing WAFU-B U-20 Girls Cup with a dominant 3-0 victory over hosts Benin Republic on Sunday at the Stade Omnisports d’Adjohoun.
Barely 24 hours after defeating defending champions Ghana 3-1 in their opening match, the Falconets once again displayed their class, composure, and attacking prowess to claim maximum points and tighten their grip at the top of the table.
The Nigerian girls wasted no time in stamping their authority on the game, dictating possession and controlling proceedings from start to finish.
Kareem Ramotalahi opened the scoring in the 14th minute, finishing off a fine team move to give Nigeria an early lead.
She doubled her tally in the 58th minute, racing down the right flank before cutting inside to unleash a low drive beyond the onrushing Beninese goalkeeper for 2–0.

In spite of playing in front of a partisan home crowd, the Falconets maintained their composure, managing the game intelligently and frustrating Benin’s attempts to find a way back.
Precious Chiemerie sealed the wining added time of 90+3 minute with a clinical strike from inside the box after Benin failed to clear a corner, wrapping up a commanding performance for Nigeria.
The victory puts Nigeria on six points from two matches, leaving them in a strong position as the tournament progresses.
The Falconets will return to action against Ghana on Monday, Nov. 11, at 10 a.m., before rounding off the group phase with another encounter against hosts Benin on Nov. 12.
The competition is being played in a round-robin format, with the three participating teams .Nigeria, Ghana, and Benin Republic facing each other twice to determine the eventual champions.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the 2025 WAFU Zone B Under-20 Girls’ Cup started on Nov. 7, to Nov. 12 with just three participating nations -Nigeria, Ghana, and hosts Benin Republic.
The WAFU B U-20 Girls Cup serves as a crucial developmental platform for identifying new talents and preparing national squads for upcoming CAF and FIFA youth competitions.
