The National Film and Video Censors Board, NFVCB, will honour 22 Nollywood stars and industry veterans who will clock milestone ages of 50 and 60 in 2025 during the Peace Anyiam-Osigwe Nigeria Digital Content Regulatory Conference.

NFVCB Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Shaibu Husseini, in a statement disclosed that the conference, scheduled for Nov. 18–19, will be held under the theme “From Volume to Value: The Future of Nollywood in the Digital Age.” Husseini added that the honour initiative was created to celebrate practitioners whose work has shaped Nigeria’s film landscape over the years.

He said the recognition reinforces the board’s commitment to acknowledging creatives whose contributions have enriched Nigeria’s cultural heritage, enhanced Nollywood’s global visibility and supported its continued growth.

“Honouring those who have invested decades of excellence in the industry is both a responsibility and a privilege,” he noted.

Husseini explained that this maiden edition focuses specifically on 22 practitioners reaching milestone ages in 2025, to ensure the recognition remains personal, focused and meaningful.

Among the honourees are Desmond Elliott, Rita Dominic, Ngozi Ezeonu, Afeez Bello, Adebayo Tijani, Eucharia Anunobi, Kingsley Ogoro, and former Directors Guild of Nigeria President, Bond Emeruwa.

He noted that the selected personalities represent some of Nollywood’s most influential actors, filmmakers and creative contributors, whose careers continue to inspire both emerging and established talents.

Husseini added that the initiative marks the beginning of a long-term tradition of institutional recognition by the board.

“From next year, the honour roll will expand to include industry veterans turning 70 and above those whose pioneering work laid the foundations of today’s Nollywood,” he said.
