A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has approved the expulsion of several governors and senior party figures over alleged anti-party activities.
The affected leaders include Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara, former Chairman of the Board of Trustees Adolphus Wabara, former Minister Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, and Deputy National Chairman (South) Taofeek Arapaja, among others.
The decision was ratified on Tuesday during the 103rd meeting of the PDP National Executive Committee, held at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja.

Acting National Chairman Mohammed Abdulrahman said the measures became necessary due to what he described as persistent violations of existing court orders by the affected individuals. According to him, the party could no longer overlook what it considered repeated acts of disobedience and conduct capable of undermining its internal processes.
The expulsions mark the latest escalation in the ongoing internal crisis within the PDP, as factions jostle for control and influence ahead of future political contests.
