Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has imposed a 24-hour curfew on Igbajo in Boluwaduro Local Government Area to calm frayed nerves and ensure peace.
The curfew takes effect immediately and will remain in place until law and order are fully restored. The unrest follows the death of Prince Adegboyega Famodun last Saturday, whose passing sparked protests that have escalated into breaches of public order in the town.
The Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi, releases a statement confirming the curfew, quoting the governor on the urgent need to restore peace.
Governor Adeleke condemns the civil disobedience, stressing that his administration will not permit any acts capable of undermining stability in Igbajo.
He warns that anyone engaging in illegal activities, whether openly or secretly, will face strict legal action in accordance with the law.
“The breakdown of law and order observed in Igbajo last night is deeply troubling,” the governor says. “As Chief Security Officer of Osun State, I will not allow anyone to jeopardize the peace and harmony that Osun communities currently enjoy. Immediate steps are necessary to prevent further chaos.”
To enforce the curfew, a joint security operation deploys the Army, Police, Department of State Services, DSS, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, to maintain 24-hour surveillance across Igbajo.

Governor Adeleke also extends condolences to the family of Prince Adegboyega Famodun and the people of Igbajo.
He urges calm and unity, calling on residents to channel their grief and frustration through peaceful means while allowing authorities to manage the situation.
The governor emphasizes that the administration prioritizes peace, safety, and harmonious coexistence across Osun State, with Igbajo as a focal point for ensuring these values.
