Head Coach of the Super Eagles, Eric Chelle, has announced a 54-man provisional squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, finals in Morocco.
The Nigeria Football Federation,NFF, released the list on Tuesday, featuring a blend of established stars and new entrants competing for a place in the final tournament team.
Top regulars such as Victor Osimhen, Stanley Nwabali, Alex Iwobi, Ademola Lookman, and captain William Troost-Ekong headline the provisional selection.
The squad covers all positions extensively, giving Chelle a wide pool to choose from as preparations intensify for the continental championship.
Chelle is expected to cut the list down to 28 players in the coming days, as required by tournament regulations.
The Super Eagles are scheduled to open camp on December 10, ahead of the competition’s kickoff on December 21.

The goalkeeping department features Stanley Nwabali, Amas Obasogie, Maduka Okoye, Adebayo Adeleye, Francis Uzoho, and Ebenezer Harcourt.
In defence, William Troost-Ekong, Ola Aina, Calvin Bassey, Semi Ajayi, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Bruno Onyemaechi, Chidozie Awaziem, Zaidu Sanusi, Igoh Ogbu, Felix Agu, Ryan Alebiosu, and Adekunle Adeleke make up a strong list of options.
The midfield unit includes Alex Iwobi, Frank Onyeka, Alhassan Yusuf Abdullahi, Wilfred Ndidi, Raphael Onyedika, Christantus Uche, Tochukwu Nnadi, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, Usman Muhammed, Peter Agba, and Tom Dele-Bashiru.
The attack is packed with depth, featuring Ademola Lookman, Samuel Chukwueze, Victor Osimhen, Moses Simon, Chidera Ejuke, Tolu Arokodare, Akor Adams, Olakunle Olusegun, Sadiq Umar, Kelechi Iheanacho, Taiwo Awoniyi, Victor Boniface, Paul Onuachu, Terem Moffi, Nathan Tella, Cyriel Dessers, Abdulrasheed Shehu, Rafiu Durosinmi, Ekeson Okorie, Chisom Orji, Chukwubuikem Ikwuemesi, Philip Otele, Salim Fago Lawal, and Emmanuel Michael.
The final squad announcement is expected soon as Nigeria begins the last phase of preparations for its AFCON campaign.
