The Founder of the One Love Family and self-styled Living Perfect Master, Satguru Maharaj Ji has tasked Nigeria’s Minister of Health, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate to address the worsening crisis in the country’s health sector or resign from office.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the spiritual leader condemned the prolonged nationwide strike by doctors, warning that the shutdown of medical services has disrupted hospital operations and led to preventable loss of lives.
He stressed that the minister’s foremost obligation is to safeguard Nigerians, not to engage in political considerations that do little to ease the suffering of citizens.
“The Minister must rise above political sentiment and act decisively. Nigerians are dying daily due to inaction. Silence and alignment with political agendas cannot continue,” the statement read.
Maharaj Ji lamented the accelerating migration of Nigerian healthcare professionals to countries offering better working conditions, noting that the recurring industrial actions make it even easier for foreign nations to recruit skilled Nigerian doctors and nurses. He described the situation as a direct threat to the stability of Nigeria’s health system.
He also faulted the Ministry of Health for failing to clearly communicate its remedial plans. He demanded that Professor Pate present concrete actions taken so far to address longstanding structural problems as well as a timeline for implementation.

Maharaj Ji insisted that transparency is necessary to rebuild trust and assure Nigerians that efforts are underway to resolve the crisis.
He added that leaders of the striking doctors’ associations and officials of the Ministry of Health share moral responsibility for deaths recorded during the industrial action, urging both sides to step aside if they are unable to provide effective leadership.
Maharaj Ji further advised Nigeria to explore alternative health models, pointing to countries such as China, Japan, and Vietnam that use roots and plants for preventive healthcare.
He said integrating similar practices could strengthen community-based health systems and reduce dependence on overstretched hospitals.
He called on President Bola Tinubu to declare a National Medical Emergency to stem the exodus of medical personnel, rebuild confidence in health institutions, and shield the country from external pressures affecting national health.
The statement ended with a firm message to the health minister: “Professor Muhammad Ali Pate must either confront the crisis with bold measures or step aside for someone who will. Nigerian lives cannot wait.”
