Troops of the Nigerian Army have recorded significant operational successes across the country, killing no fewer than 14 terrorists, intercepting ₦9 million ransom money, arresting several suspects and rescuing kidnapped victims in coordinated operations conducted within the last 48 hours.
A credible source at the Army Headquarters disclosed that the operations were carried out simultaneously across multiple theatres as part of sustained efforts to degrade terrorist networks, dismantle criminal gangs and secure vulnerable communities.
In the North-East, troops of Operation HADIN KAI intensified offensive actions in Borno and Yobe states, targeting enclaves of Islamic State West Africa Province,ISWAP, and Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad,JAS, elements.
The operations, which involved ambushes, fighting patrols and follow-up exploitation missions, led to the killing of 11 terrorists in Bama, Konduga and Guzamala Local Government Areas.
During the operations, troops recovered assorted weapons and ammunition, motorcycles and bicycles, as well as terrorist logistics including food items and energy drinks believed to be used to sustain fighters in the field.
The source said troops also arrested three suspected ISWAP/JAS collaborators along the Konduga–Bama road.
Items recovered from the suspects included 700 packs of energy drinks, mobile phones and an undisclosed sum of cash, believed to be meant for supplying terrorists.
In the North-West, troops operating under Operation FANSAN YAMMA engaged terrorists in Zurmi and Maradun Local Government Areas of Zamfara State.

The encounter forced the terrorists to retreat into surrounding bushes after sustaining pressure from advancing troops.
A major breakthrough was recorded in Kaduna State, where troops intercepted a vehicle conveying ₦9 million ransom.
The money was reportedly intended for the release of six children kidnapped in Katsina State, dealing a blow to the financial lifeline of the criminal network involved.
Operations in the North-Central zone led to the foiling of kidnapping attempts and the rescue of victims in Plateau, Nasarawa and Taraba states.
Several victims regained their freedom after kidnappers fled upon sighting troops, while five suspected kidnappers were arrested in Kaduna State. Efforts are ongoing to track down fleeing criminals and rescue other abducted persons.
In the South-South, troops conducting anti-illegal bunkering operations in Akwa Ibom State uncovered about 600 litres of illegally refined Automotive Gas Oil.
The product was handled in line with existing operational directives.
The Army reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining relentless and intelligence-driven operations across all regions, stressing its resolve to dismantle terrorist and criminal networks, curb insecurity and protect lives and property nationwide.
