The Kaduna State Government on Wednesday hosted the senior management team of the National Board for Technology Incubation, NBTI, led by its Director-General, Dr. Kazeem Kolawole Raji, during a courtesy visit that underscored growing collaboration between government and innovation-focused institutions.

The delegation was accompanied by the Winner of the NextGen Innovation Challenge 2025, Malam Al-Amin Muhammed Idris, an indigene of Kaduna State, whose recent global recognition has drawn attention to the state’s expanding technology and innovation ecosystem.

During the engagement, Dr. Raji praised the Kaduna State Government for adopting a progressive and innovation-driven governance model.

He highlighted the administration’s effective use of technology and data-led strategies in tackling insecurity, as well as its deliberate investments in agriculture and other key sectors of the economy.

He also commended the state government for the timely approval of travel sponsorship that enabled Malam Al-Amin and relevant officials to participate in the NextGen Innovation Challenge held in London, United Kingdom.

In his remarks, Malam Al-Amin expressed deep appreciation to the Kaduna State Government for what he described as an inclusive leadership approach that prioritizes merit and potential over personal connections.

He noted that the encouragement, institutional support, and confidence reposed in him by the government played a critical role in his success on the international stage.

The Kaduna State Government, in response, lauded Dr. Raji for his leadership and commitment to repositioning the National Board for Technology Incubation as a catalyst for innovation and enterprise development in Nigeria.

Malam Al-Amin was also congratulated for emerging winner from a highly competitive field of over 3,000 participants at the London-based challenge.

His winning innovation, Interface Africa, attracted an investment commitment of £1.5 million, targeted at expanding access to clean energy solutions across the African continent, further placing Kaduna State and Nigeria on the global innovation map.

The government reiterated its unwavering commitment to inclusive governance that empowers young people and supports innovation regardless of background.

This commitment aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and is being advanced through initiatives such as the establishment and full equipping of Institutes of Vocational Training and Skills Development across the three senatorial zones of Kaduna State.

The administration reaffirmed its commitment to create an enabling environment for bold ideas, technological advancement, and transformative talent capable of driving sustainable development and national unity.
