Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has approved a N160 million end-of-year solidarity package for security and law enforcement agencies in the state as part of efforts to appreciate their sacrifices and strengthen collaboration against criminality.

The gesture was announced on Tuesday in Gusau during a tour of security formations across the state. The governor was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Malam Abubakar Nakwada.

Speaking on behalf of the governor, Nakwada said the financial support was meant to demonstrate the state government’s appreciation for the commitment, resilience, and courage of security personnel safeguarding Zamfara.

“To further demonstrate the state government’s appreciation, N160 million has been allocated across the agencies as an end-of-year solidarity package,” he said.

The visit, described as the first of its kind in the state, was aimed at boosting morale among officers and reinforcing cooperation between the Zamfara State Government and federal security agencies in the ongoing fight against insecurity.

Nakwada conveyed the gratitude of both the government and the people of Zamfara to frontline officers risking their lives daily to protect communities across the state.

He also urged the agencies to intensify efforts toward tackling the state’s security challenges.

He assured them of the government’s continued support, stressing that Lawal’s administration remained committed to providing the resources and backing required for effective security operations.

The governor also extended condolences to security agencies over personnel who may have lost their lives in the line of duty, offering prayers for the families of the fallen officers.

The financial support, the government said, was intended to enable security personnel to celebrate the Yuletide season with ease.

The tour covered the 1 Bridge Command of the Nigerian Army, 207 Air Force Quick Response Group, Garrison Command of the Nigerian Army, Zamfara State Police Command, Nigeria Customs Service, Department of State Services, Police Mobile Force 42, Federal Road Safety Corps, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and the State Community Protection Guards.
